I have to be frank. I did not do that much research on Make Up Artist (MUA). I knew of an MUA who worked on my friend (who also did Belinda Chee) and I was quite set on getting her since my friend looked great on her wedding and gave her good reviews.
Then one day I saw that there will be a bridal fair at Cyberview Lodge and Aivy Yong was setting up her booth there.

Like I said, I never did that much research on MUA before BUT I DO KNOW of an MUA named Aivy Yong. I remember very well where I saw that name.
There are only 4 listed MUA in the www.signatureweddings.asia directory and the only that caught my attention was Aivy Yong. It states that she uses airbrushing technique, which was very intriguing to me. I've seen how it works on hollywood celebrities and the wonders it does and definitely do not mind trying it out. So I paid her a visit at the fair. She was busy but she took time to attend to me. While I was quite interested to engage her, it didn't feel right for me to engage the first MUA I visited and certainly not when I've not gone for trials. So I did not engage her at the fair. One week down the road, I made an appointment with her for a trial session at her studio at SOHO, Empire Subang.
She began by explaining to me the process and started to work on my face. I was quite impressed with the results as it was very natural, dewy, fresh and gives me better coverage compared to traditional make up.
I have 2 major concerns, my freckles and acne back. Imagine my delight when I discovered that airbrushing can conceal my freckles completely! I never thought it was possible as it was impossible with traditional make up.
Then came my hideous acne back. Traditional make up using concealer and foundation will take a looooooong time to conceal my entire back. But with airbrushing, it was done in a couple of minutes. I intend to wear barebacks for my wedding and the only thing holding me back was my acne back. Airbrushing was my saviour!!!
I didn't need to think twice !!!! I engaged Aivy Yong right away and I was so glad that she was available on the few dates I needed her service. She was nice enough to offer me the promotion price she offered at the fair eventhough I did not engage her then. So happy !!!
If you need to know, airbrushing:
(1) provides better coverage - it gives a more even coverage and conceals freckles and pimples better than traditional make up.
(2) saves time - airbrushing is faster as it sprays on the foundation to your skin to provide more even coverage which can be done in a shorter period of time. This leaves the bride more time to sleep (before morning session) and mingle (before dinner session). Traditional makeup is slower as more time is needed to blend the foundation, concealer and powder.
